BUNNY SNARED Mei Ling for Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year. It is the year of the rabbit and to celebrate we have Mei Ling, the wife of DC Comic's Jonah Hex, being kidnapped as a bunny girl.

For Chinese people, the rabbit is a tame creature representing hope and life for a long time. It is tender and lovely. The moon goddess Chang'e in the Chinese legend has a rabbit as her pet, which stimulates the thought that only this creature is amiable enough to match her noble beauty. Another way of saying is that the Rabbit is the incarnation of the moon goddess per se and it is always a symbol of pureness and auspiciousness.

People born in the Year of the Rabbit are gentle and approachable. They have a decent, noble and elegant manner.

This is anti-hero Jonah Hex's wife Mei Ling who has been bound and gagged by someone who has a grudge against the Bounty Hunter.  Jonah Hex seems to be the west's Charlie Brown. He killed a fellow friend in the Indian tibe that adopted him and he received the branded that gave his gruesome visage.  He fought for the Confederate Army and was caprtured.  He lead a doomed escape which a Union officer slaughtered the escaping Rebel troops and Hex received the blame wrongly.  One of the things in the comics was a father of one the dead rebels was determined to kidnap Hex's wife and child, then always keeping them just out of rescue.

The original Mei Ling was a pacifist and wanted Jonah to give his violent way.  It did not work out and when various bushwhackers attacked and Hex sent them to Boot Hill, when
Mei Ling was the wife of Jonah Hex. They met in San Francisco, some time after her father and brother were murdered. She convinced Jonah to give up his life of violence so that they can lead a peaceful existence together in Colorado. On their way there, Mei and Jonah were harassed by a group of ruffians in a saloon, and Jonah was surprised to learn that his new wife was an expert martial artist capable of disabling an entire group of armed men. Jonah decided to merely wound their attackers, much to Mei Ling's delight, as it convinced her that is was possible for her stubborn husband to change his ways
