Meg is usually the butt of Peter's jokes due to her unpopularity and "ugliness"; Peter resorts to outrageous stunts and names. Stewie and Brian tend to disdain her kindness, but they typically do it behind Meg's back. Lois constantly puts Meg down, while boosting her own egotistical image. Lois is usually of little to no help to Meg when she is abused by others; though she is not as abusive towards Meg as Peter is.
While Meg is usually a pushover, she can get angry when pushed too far, though such occasions are usually rare. This can be seen in the episode "Seahorse Seashell Party", where she strongly insults and defames Peter, Lois, and even Chris for their inconsiderate actions toward her. This causes Peter, Lois, and Chris to distance themselves in shame and sends Peter into depression; though she later apologizes upon realizing that the family needs a "lightning rod" to absorb the dysfunction. In the episode "Road to Rupert," Meg assaults a man for insulting her after a fender-bender.
Many of the show's storylines about Meg involve her trying to improve her life, find a boyfriend, being a Russian sleeper agent, and reaching breaking points with her family and others who victimize her.
Out of all the members of the family, her father Peter abuses her the most, however he is shown to actually care about Meg in various episodes, such as in "Meg and Quagmire" when he goes out of his way to prevent Glenn Quagmire from having sex with her, and in "This Little Piggy" where he tries to get Meg out of a foot fetishism business objectifying her for men's sexual amusement. Peter cares about Meg but is not open about it to anyone. In "Screwed the Pooch", while attempting to persuade the court that Brian should have access to his puppies, Peter observes that if he were half the father that Brian was, he would know certain facts about his children, including the fact that "Meg's real father is..." Brian answers, "Stan Thompson." Meg herself does not hear this revelation due to her listening to music on headphones at the time.He is voiced by series creator Seth MacFarlane, who also voices Peter Griffin, Brian Griffin, Stewie Griffin, and Carter Pewterschmidt.
Quagmire's actor and series creator, Seth MacFarlane, describes Quagmire as "an appalling human being who is still caught in the Rat Pack era".
Quagmire is known for his obsession with sex and perverted behavior, as shown throughout the series. His sexual nature is so much that he has even committed the most unimaginable acts, such as rape, incest, necrophilia, pedophilia, and bestiality. His catchphrase is "Giggity", which he says every time he has a sexual encounter with a woman, or any other mention about it.
Quagmire also often has problems in the neighborhood: One of them includes his crazy obsession with Lois, the wife of his best friend, Peter. He wishes to hang out with her behind his friend's back and flirts with her continuously, even having pictures of her all over his room. At one point, he spied on Lois in a public bathroom, which nearly got him expelled from Quahog, until Peter convinced Lois to give Quagmire another chance.
Another thing that characterizes him is his hatred towards Brian, with whom he sometimes acts rudely despite the attempts of the dog to be polite. In "Jerome Is the New Blake", he mentions that hates Brian for his attitude and commited mistakes, despite his own faults as a pervert. One of the actions he detests him for is flirting with Lois being Peter's wife (something Quagmire has also done many times). Their enemisty comes to a head when Quagmire assaults Brian in the episode "Quagmire's Dad" for sleeping with his transgender father, Ida Davis, even though Brian had no idea he was Glenn's father.
Despite his perversion and hypocrisy, Glenn doesn't lack morality; out of his sexual deviation, he is usually affable with his friends and neighbors, such as when he helped Meg defeat her school bully Michael Pulaski, or to get over her obsession with Brian in "Barely Legal". He also shows a protective side towards his family, especially his sister Brenda, who was abused by her boyfriend Jeffery Fecalman. which angered Glenn. To protect his sister, Quagmire eventually killed Jeff for his abuse.
